Katelyn’s career high came in the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships, where she made her national gymnastics debut. She went on to win silver medals in the all-around, bars, beam, and floor at the 2010 U.S. Classic in Chicago’s junior division.

She won the American Cup two years after becoming a junior national champion in 2011. Katelyn was forced to retire from gymnastics in 2015 after suffering two torn shoulders and a spine ailment that necessitated surgery.

She plummeted from top competition to Level 10 after her return. For the 2015-2016 season, Katelyn joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team. Her perfect ten scores at the 2019 Collegiate Challenge made her a social media sensation in January 2019. It was her career’s fourth perfect ten-floor routine.
