Her mother Zelma is a Liberian singer, while her father Brandon Himmel is a New York-based realtor who also oversees Zoe’s career. Her upbringing was in New York. She has an older sister named Zoe who writes and acts. Furthermore, Zoe attended Berklee College of Music and the theater in New York.
Career
She adopted their parenting style. She entered the entertainment industry at an early age. She started her career in television in 2016 with a recurring part as Harper Morgan in the comedy series Thanksgiving. She then made appearances in Sesame Street, Before You Know It, and most recently, God Friended Me.
She costarred with Arica in advertisements, and her performance in the upcoming short film Make Dating Great Again garnered rave reviews. She then made her stage debut with the Manhattan-based theater group Second Stage Theater in the off-Broadway production The Layover.
She was in California at the time she received the part, dining with her father at Joe’s Crab Shack, and they celebrated her big break by visiting Disneyland the next day.
